Excellent Speed Camera Detector - Highly Recommended
18 September 2017
I am very pleased with this product. I've had it for about a month. It picks up 99.9% of all the cameras i know about and ones i dont in Hertfordshire and Hampshire etc. (The couple it didnt pick up may be dud/unused cameras??) On the M25 there are speed cameras/Hedecs only on certain gantries and it detects all these new cameras. It identifies locations where there's a possibility of there being a mobile speedcheck vehicle. It does detect averaging speed cameras but I dont think it will average out your speeding for you (although i say this and sometimes it does notify me about my speed and i wonder why as i'm under the speed limit - so there is a chance it may do this and i havent realised??) but it will say you are in a speed camera area and its up to you to take heed and slow down. I've definitely slowed my overall speeding down as i'm more aware of my precise speed now. However in areas where there are no speed cameras and i am speeding a bit then it doesnt comment. It only notifies you when there's a threat of any camera ahead of you. Occasionally it may not tell you until you're almost on the camera (hence reduce your overall speed generally) and other times it gives you a long distance notification of a speed camera ahead. It will also say when you've passed the camera but often this is whilst you are still on the marked area in front of the camera, so make sure you are well clear of the road markings. It also doesnt seem to pick up on cameras on the other side of the road so thats good.
It's fairly basic in its design - there's no flashing lights or visual gimics - just a visual display of your speed figure, time and count down figures of the distance ahead of any camera. It just does the job its meant to do. I highly recommend it and it's all good. Its also very easy to use - i've only needed to change the KM to miles and adjust the volume of the voice, ive not needed to do anything else. I've just plugged it in and driven. Plus with this device unlike others, you can just plug it into your cigarette lighter and leave it plugged in (or get a Halfords 4 socket cigarette lighter adapter). To update the device you read the manual and connect the device to your PC with the cable included in the box.
Just wish i'd had it the night before i got caught by an obscured speed camera in Sunningdale! arrgghh.. but thats why i bought it so i dont get caught again!
