some important messages, but not enough depth in any area to be practically useful
7 August 2018
I could sum up this book as "if you want your business to thrive, then build up its enduring value".
It's an important message for sure, but I found the discussion of the 24 assets covered so much ground that it taught me little useful about any one thing. Many of the 24 assets weren't really best described as assets to my mind, but I guess its a catchier title than the "15 assets and 9 bits of random stuff".
I found the bit about deciding whether you are going for a performance or lifestyle business was a valuable point to make. But again I think by claiming to appeal to both quite different audiences, the author stretched himself a little thin.
Not a bad airport read, but not a book I'd ever return to.
