Really enjoyed this tale following the lives of three friends growing up in the London suburbs. The book charts their highs and lows from each of the protagonists perspective in a really innovative manner, through school in the 1970s, going to gigs as teenagers, forming a punk band and organising acid house parties! Written from the perspectives of the characters as the saying goes the book will 'make you laugh and make you cry!'
I couldn't recommend it highly enough, I don't think I have ever left a review on Amazon before but felt compelled to about this book which must tell you something....
Feltham Made Me is laugh-out-loud funny. From the moment the characters jump off the page and into your consciousness you'll be hooked. Jerry, Dermot and Peter are growing up in the suburbs of west London and their often contradictory accounts of their lives is hilarious. Cleverly constructed using oral accounts from the lads and the key people around them, you quickly become submerged in a vivid world beautifully realised by Paolo Sedazzari. Witty and entertaining throughout, you'll be recommending this gut-buster to all your friends. This book is always lively and will leave you feeling exhilarated.
This book is totally engaging and, frankly, brilliant. If you grew up in the 70's 80's or 90's it will touch you. Comedy, tragedy, its got it all. The characters are totally believable and even if they don't remind you of you, they will be reminiscent of someone you knew/know. I really can't recommend it enough. Superb.
