4.8 out of 5 stars

This is a good book. When I bought it there were 18 reviews all of them 5 out of 5 stars; hard to go wrong. It covers lean, agile, team work, strategy, culture and other management subject areas that are relevant for today, all with detailed references. However, what it doesn't cover in any satisfactory depth in my opinion is digital transformation.
There is value here, I highlighted numerous areas of text that I will go back to and reread, but having read widely in the management area I know there are many very good books out there that focus on the subjects covered here in a more detailed fashion and would be of more use to readers. Stripping these topics out, what I was seeking was an insight into digital transformation which I couldn't find.

very well written book! as it especially delves into the deeper roots and foundations, that help change your mentality and your thinking first, before thinking about how to best influence your business.

I was recommended this book by one of the most effective CEO's I have ever worked with and it was worth every cent. It is incredibly practical and I recommend you read it with a pencil and post its. I read it once in full but find it has followed me to work every day as an accompaniment to my notebook. It is filled with tools and thoughts that you can use over and over again. A 5-star recommendation for anyone looking to make real impact in their organisation.

Anything with Peter Abraham's name on it works for me, he knows far more than most but is modest with it, great book and great guy.

This is a useful and timely book, tapping into the digital transformation trend that is still flowing through companies, offering a clear guide to identify and transform as necessary into a more agile, flexible and responsive business.

Showing that change can be necessary, but not for change’s sake, the authors do a great job in introducing concepts and helping transform thinking in the process. It manages to deliver information to audiences of different levels and experiences without being overpowering or patronising in the process. It acts as both educator and mentor alike! Practical advice and real-world case studies go together with more academic and technical information and, for those who need it, there are many references to provoke further research and reading.

What is more, this book is offered at a very competitive price! There is not a lot more to say, other than you should look at this book, even if you think you already digital transformed. You may be surprised… and for those who are not yet there, it can be a little diamond in your armoury.

Lots of people talk about being agile, as if it is a methodology, without really understanding that it is more about cultural change. This book has a good mix of academic and practical examples of what it takes. A lot of thinking can be found in blog posts but this book pulls it together in one place which makes it easier to refer to and share.

Executives in the corporate world like the concept of agile and are all for people going on scrum master courses and putting up a few kanban boards on the walls. However they don't get that there needs to be a shift in the approach to governance, a shift in mindset from outputs to outcomes or the realisation that to hire the right people for agile you need a different approach to recruitment. Maybe if they read this book those messages might start to sink in

Many of the concepts and ideas equally apply to the old economy but the presentation, content and style makes it relevant to all

There are a lot of books written about 'digital transformation' yet none of them have nailed what it is - and more importantly, how to actually make it happen - as well as this book. It's chock full of practical advice, as well as models and techniques to use to bring about real change in organisations big and small. I don't think there's a page within this book that isn't insightful and anyone - whether a newbie to the subject, or an old hand at transforming organisations - will learn something from reading this.
