A lovely story about animals, interwoven with mystery and intrigue.

I was hooked by this lovely story from the start. Sheila Norton has woven a wonderful web of mystery and intrigue around her main character’s celebrity past. Emma, the black sheep of her family, hides herself away in the beautiful Devon countryside, hoping no-one will recognise her. She finds herself making up tales about her life, both past and present, and quite by chance, becomes a pet sitter. She loves animals, and the cats and dogs in this first part of the story are all delightful. Then disaster strikes, and I am all agog to read what happens next. A really well-written, light-hearted, humorous episode that leaves you feeling better for having read it.
