Please do not let the first review put you off this film. I feel the description was a very accurate representation of the film. This is an indie gem, definitely worth checking out, especially in this time of cookie-cutter blockbusters, animations and romcoms.
It's difficult to describe the film without giving too much away but this is a darkly comic tale following 3 filmmakers on a quest to capture a unique story of an amnesiac, however in their desire to get the ultimate story, they lose all sense of perspective for their subject, which ultimately leads them into some pretty dark territory.
The acting in the film is especially good and given that this is a first-time feature film from a young director on what I imagine was a low budget, the cinematography and soundtrack is stunning. It also has interesting comments to make about the nature of journalism and the price people are willing to pay to get the ultimate story, as well as ideas on mental illness, memory and family. I give it 4 stars as I feel the final act is a little rushed to tie things up, but do not let that you put you off. If you want to be amused and challenged and are looking for something a bit different, I would highly recommend this film. Ed Christmas is a young director to watch!
Honestly, ignore the first review, no idea what they are talking about. This is a hidden, indie gem of a film.
I don't want to give too much away either, just give it a watch and decide for yourself. Of course films are meant to be objective, but that first review is way off point. They didn't even get past the first 15mins!
This is an atrocious film. I resent having been persuaded by the description on Amazon to even start watching this. Didnt get further than 10-15 minutes. Amazon should refund the money, the description is a misrepresentation of what it is really like.
