Cried my eyes out when the book finished. So tragic. Even though you knew what would happen to the main characters it was still so heartbreaking. Such cruel people in the world but some amazingly caring ones too. Definitely a must read for anyone who thinks it was possible not to know what Hitler was doing in Germany during the 1930's and 40's
I was waiting to read the end to this gripping trilogy and although I am sad to learn the truth this is a much needed book which highlights the sacrifice of people of integrity who stuck to their beliefs whatever the costs. The fact that this is a true story abut the author's grand-parents gives the book the authenticity which makes it extremely powerful. Highly recommended.
