Gorgeous start to a fabulous series

Summer with the Country Village Vet was the perfect escape for a weekend. I fell in love with Lucy and everyone she encountered whilst living at Langtry Meadows. I really felt like I was living in that little village with everyone, I felt quite at home there!
Lucy Jacobs loves her job as a teacher at an inner-city school however is made redundant. The only job she could find on such short notice was in the tiny village in Langtry Meadows but due to no other jobs being available she takes it in the view of it only being temporary. The first introduction Lucy has to the village had me laughing, I could really picture it all unfolding.
I fell a little bit in love with Charlie, the vet, he was the right amount of gorgeous and brooding that you want in a leading man.
It wasn't just a fluffy chick lit read, Zara has managed to put in some more serious issues that really touched my heart. I loved reading about all the animals that Lucy has been roped into help look after however I would have loved more about the children she teaches as well.
I can't wait to revisit Langtry Meadows in book two, it was somewhere I really wanted to live myself so I'm excited to see what's in store next.
