OK ish but Expensive
on 13 March 2017
I have to admit I have a very sweet tooth, which had few consequences for my health when I was younger. I enjoy eating a sweet snack when I have a cup of tea or coffee. In order to try and alleviate the ill effects of sugar and grains in my diet, I thought I would try these bars when they came up for review on Vine. These are quite large bars, which are thick and quite heavy. On the first bite, they are quite bitter, as they have a high cocoa content and the texture is strange. The bar contains small bits, which give it a texture which is dense and its like eating like small pieces of gravel.....not something that enamours me to this product. Once you get used to the bitter, dense taste, they do become a little more tolerable and they do fill your stomach, whilst being healthier than a cake or some biscuits. The biggest downside to this product is the price. They are simply too expensive for what they are. At the time of writing this review, each bar costs £2 each. This is way too much money.
This is one of those products that quite simply is superfluous to need, given the cost. They are quite nice, once you get over the initial bitterness, but they are way too expensive for what you get. If you have to eat this type of food for special dietary requirements, then they are good, but for a general snack, they are poor value.
