ThermoCafé Stainless Steel 1l Flask
1 November 2017
3 years down the line I can say that this flask is still keeping my breakfast cuppa hot overnight - and by hot I mean hot enough to scald. It doesn't keep quite so hot for the full 24 hours but then I never use the cup so lose the added insulation that would give. I don't use the cup because I find it fills with condensation that then drips everywhere when I take it off.
The twist and pour stopper is great at keeping any teabag in the flask and giving a controlled pour so long as you remember to pour in the direction of the arrow otherwise the fluid may come out both sides and go everywhere. Where I find that the stopper fails is, after the first cup has been removed, the cooling internal temperatures invoke a pressure seal that can be very difficult to break - sometimes nigh impossible. However, on the few occasions when my own grip has proved unequal to the task, I have a strap wrench that, so far, has never been defeated.
It isn't the best flask I have ever had, that one kept my tea scalding for 48 hours until long past going out of production, but it works well and is pretty good at bouncing off the floor undamaged. I wouldn't hesitate for very long over buying another one - just long enough to see if Thermos had started producing the other one again.
