This is a fairly pedestrian whodunnit, which I found quite hard to get into. Some of the early chapters are a bit backwards-and-forwards and the story/characters were not interesting enough for me to persevere. However, after much putting it down and picking it up again, persevere I did. The story gathers some pace in the second half of the book and we learn more about the previously one-dimensional characters and their backgrounds. However, looking forward to the end, what an anticlimax it was. Whether you enjoy this book or not, the ending will undoubtedly come as a massive disappointment; it seems to have been rushed to bring the story to a conclusion and perhaps leave the way open for a follow-up, which I will not be reading. The kindle market is flooded with crime fiction at the moment and there are much better books out there than this one.
