I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, the writing style is engaging and the content incredibly informative.
I've had a gardening blog for six years; but within the first few pages of this book I realised that almost everything I've done so far is wrong.
I have 9 followers...and I don't think they are very engaged followers either. My posts have been erratic, the titles ambiguous, my photos weren't labelled!! How on earth did I expect to have an engaged readership??
Now I'm not saying that my blog will suddenly blossom into the most popular one online, because that's rather dependent on the quality of the content I create, but I have learnt some incredibly useful lessons that I can go back and apply to my old posts. I've even been brave enough to revamp it, change the core topic and ditch the stock template. It's not perfect, but it's a step in the right direct for sure.
Thank you so much for writing this book Amber, I feel like I have a chance now. Pumpkin Becki [...]
I've been following Forever Amber, a great fashion blog, since 2011 when I googled green dresses and found one of Amber's posts. Her writing was entertaining and flowed. So it's no wonder that her e-book is equally well scripted.
Many years ago while working in Japan I had a blog and I was always surprised when people I didn't know found it. Little did I know about the workings behind the scenes. If I'd had such a guide in 2006 I could have get it out to a wider audience, perhaps. Now that I'm working on reworking it I wanted some great advice on popularizing my writing and spreading it far.
'My Blogging Secrets' goes through the nuts and bolts such as building a following, SEO, photography and much more. The rest is up to you. So if you love writing and have an original voice then this is an excellent guide to developing your blog.
Excellent book. Very easy, and I should add enjoyable, to read, and contains so much useful information for those who are beginning to blog. Also the author comes across as truthful and believable - no 'get rich quick' ideas, but nevertheless very encouraging. Highly recommended, I can't fault it. Simply the best!
I have been reading Amber's blog for a really long time and love her writing style. She's a very talented writer as well as blogger. I've been reading her blog series and enjoyed the tips and advice she has written, so when I heard she was writing an ebook I was very excited to read it. If you hate your boring work whether it's an office or retail and want to be more creative and get into blogging, then may I suggest this book. This book has a lot more in depth knowledge than posts on her 'blogging' series and really will tell you how easy it is to be a full-time blogger and to give up your boring work. I highly recommend this book and a well done to Amber for writing this.
This book has a fantastic amount of advice. So much that's written about blogging is from people that have not actually made a success of their own site. The author of this book has been a pro-blogger for years and clearly knows her stuff! I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to turn their site into one that can help them quit their day job and work from home as a professional blogger.
I was toying with the idea of starting a blog for a very long time, but somehow didn't quite know where to start. I came across Ambers blog during a very wet and rainy holiday beginning of this year and read my way through several years (and quite a storm outside). As i enjoyed her writing so much i decided to give the book a go as well, hoping it wouldn't be too technical. And I have to say I wasn't disappointed. It does cover a lot of ground and gives you a good idea of what is involved In setting out a successful blog and what things to consider. Pleased to say I am still checking her blog several times a week now and have just (finally) started publishing my first blog posts. Big thumbs up
