I like them, but buyer beware - they are a very strange fit!

these were a bargain for less than £15, so I risked it in spite of the many negative comments I read in the review section - I took good note of them though! I'm a size 4.5, with wide feet, a bunion and skinny calves, and I normally wear size 5 trainers with normal socks, due to my wide feet. So I hoped that size 6 would fit me OK, and bought them in the colour which was bargain price at that time, in a size 6.
The boots were packaged fine, but one boot had different inner packaging than the other one - completely different, which made me think they were from different batches. One boot had a little paint stain on the side of the foot. Other than that they looked perfect.
The fit, as warned by other reviewers, was VERY strange. Good job I have skinny calves - no way I could even tuck leggings in them, especially the right boot, which is slightly slimmer than the left one. Good with long skirts though. And fine for my wide toes and bunion - they are ridiculously enormous on the toe area, compared to how snugly they fit elsewhere. The tightest bit is the decorative seam going over the top of the foot - this is very tight. I can wear them with normal socks, but not with fleecy or thick socks - I struggled getting my foot into them wearing thicker socks, and they were uncomfortably tight on my foot at that cross seam once I'd managed it, although a better fit in the toe area. But they are fleece lined and leather, so might be warm enough with normal socks in winter - the problem being they're very loose on my feet with just normal socks on. So I may just wear them as slippers in winter, since I normally need to wear legwarmers and get very cold feet. Either way I'll get plenty of use out of them if the insole doesn't slip or tear, as some reviewers have mentioned. No way I'd pay more than £20 for them though as they are just a very odd shape and fit.
