Eating my Words as usual
on 16 May 2018
Oh dear, always said I would never use a Kindle but I cant put the damn thing down. After delivering my standard speech on how Books are much nicer all round, feel and smell great, pretty much indestructible and don't need charging, I bought the latest basic Kindle which was on offer. I was thinking to try it and then give it away. I had a few free Kindle books in my Amazon account so started to read those to test it out. As it came with advertising, I get offered numerous ebooks for free or 99 pence or what have you, so have downloaded several. The Reader is easy to operate, has good features, touch page turning as opposed to a button or swipe. This model is not backlit, well it wouldn't be for the price. It's great for outdoors, and but need a lamp in dark conditions, the same as one would for a paperback, and with the Case ( extra cost ) it shuts off when closed up. I still read paperbacks but am impressed with the Kindle and how easy it was to switch to it. Chose white as it seems more like a book than the black which I thought would give a tablet appearance. Slightly more convenient than a book as it is cargo pocket size.
The added benefit is that my reading list, as in Authors and subjects, has increased considerably due to taking up some of the free or inexpensive offers on a multitude of subjects and/or new Authors.
