Ridiculously cheap and quick delivery from this German seller. This box comes with a continental power supply and is not preset to receive Freesat UK, so if you just plug it into an existing Sky cable and get "Service not available" don't panic. First thing is to update the firmware - available from the Edision website. Just put the file on a USB drive, plug it in and power up the receiver. Go into Menu and select Conditional then Software Update. Once the firmware is upgraded go into Menu again and select Installation to select the satellite. Freesat is on Astra 28.2E. When that is done search for channels. I selected the FTA (free to air) option to avoid getting loads of subscription channels. The search takes ages and then it too me another hour of faffing to delete all the channels I didn't want. So if you're looking for a Freesat receiver that works out of the box there are other sellers who provide this model already set up, and with a UK power supply. But if you don't mind doing a bit of work this gives the same end result - a very happy customer.
My only slight concern is that it runs very hot. There is a heatsink on the chip inside the plastic case, but no ventilation on the top of the case. I stuck little rubber feet on the base to make sure there was some airflow through the holes on the bottom of the case.
Great wee freesat receiver. I already have another Edision and the quality of the picture and their functionality is second to none for the price. This was bought to replace a Triax which was more expensive and with less functionality. I note the other review and I suggest anyone getting an Edision should download the manual from the website since they can be tricky to set up. However, once done you will have a little box of treasures. Please note this does not have or is able get WiFi but I was aware of this. Delivery was as stated, from Germany. No batteries in the remote but not a hardship.
