Just got my Shine 2 a few days ago and all good so far. It's tracking activity and sleep fine (I'm apparently not getting enough by the way).
I have read reviews that say the device pops out of the band (mine came with circular security clamp), the vibrate feature is undetectable and the LED's are impossible to read in direct sunlight. This is not my experience!! Apart from very bright sunlight (where you wouldn't be able to read your phone) the display can be seen and even so all you have to do is hood the display with your hand and you'll be able to read it fine.
I love the call and message notification feature (very useful when phone is on silent) and the 'get up off you ass and move' feature too. I also like it's ability to track "special activies" and can be used to track swimming and basic cycling cadence too.
There is one annoying behavior though. The Shine seems to loose it's brain occasionally when disconnected from the phone. I understand that notification, alarm, etc. features won't work but surely it should be able to show accurate progress & time independently? Now it's all fine when you sync (normal service resumed) and no data is lost but it's just a bit of a pain having to keep re-syncing. It should do that automatically when in range of the phone.
Other than that niggle I'm very happy with this device. If you're looking for a good value, well built, light & discreet tracker with some 2-way ability with your phone, then I would highly recommend!
