I've bought many Sandisk products in the past, never had any issues so didn't hesitate to buy again, however this time I was massively let down.
A friend asked me to take some photos at his wedding reception, so I bought the card specifically for taking photos and passing on to him afterwards. I checked that the card worked in my camera - no problem. So off I went, snapping away at the happy occasion... first dance, TICK; cutting the cake, TICK; Drinking a pint of ale out of an old sneaker the groom lost on the stag do, TICK...
Only when it came to taking the photos off the card it was unreadable, corrupt. I managed to recover some photos from the card via free software but over 50% are gone, unless I want to spend big money on 'professional' recovery of the files (prices for self-recovery via paid for software start at about £60). I don't profess my photos to be good enough to spend that money on recovery attempts (after all the success of the recovery is not necessarily guaranteed) so I'll just have to accept that some precious photos will be lost forever.
