Another great read in this series, I've said this before but I'll say it again, each one just gets better & better. Fantastic pace & style of writing, I know from an opening paragraph of a book whether I'm going to enjoy it or not, & D.S. Butler is one of those writers that has the ability to capture my attention straight away. A great eye for detail, & I have to say a very well researched idea in this book, unless of course she keeps snakes. As always great familiar characters, with a bit of their personal life thrown in. I've also said this before, I'd like to see these books in a TV series. Can't wait for the next one.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole series of Jack Mackinnon books by D S Butler. The various subject matters she covers with a different take on the norm & especially with Deadly Ritual, an intriguing look at an unusual subject. I like the way she is developing the personal life of Jack--watching him grapple with his domestic issues fills him out as a character you want to root for. I enjoy his wry sense of humour !! The lives of his police colleagues are filling out too. D S writes with a nice easy style that draws you in from the opening page to the last. I would highly recommend this series & personally look forward to as any more as she can write. ( No pressure, of course D S ) lol
The DS Jack MacKinnon series is a brilliant crime and thriller for anyone who reads this type of book , it has a great story line you can follow and plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing , the D.S.Butler deadly series has been outstanding to read carnt wait for the next book .
Book no.6.....I really liked this read. As good as bks. 1-5. McKinnon an excellent, down to earth detective plus good backup from his team. The story rather chilling with an identity twist near the end. Just one small negative ...it's probably me being fussy...the word "gotten", an Americanism, surely? Seriously though an excellent read which I thoroughly enjoyed.
