The best dry clean you can get.
on 6 June 2018
This is an excellent piece of equipment for giving a photosensor a dry clean. It is a small electric motor and four LEDs encased in a black plastic moulding which easily fits in the hand, and a small synthetic hair brush rotated by the motor. The control switch has three positions, off, spin, and no spin with the LEDs lit. The spin (for a few seconds) is to build up a static charge on the brush, and the LED position is for the actual cleaning of the sensor by carefully drawing the brush over the sensor while using the LEDs for illumination. The idea is that the static charge will attract dust from the sensor onto the brush, and it seems to work. The brush is also cleaned by spinning it so don't put the spinning brush inside the camera box. The unit takes two AAA size batteries. The brush is very soft and delicate and could not damage the sensor in any way, and has a plastic cover for when not in use. The unit is very easy to use. I agree with one other reviewer that, given the simplicity of the device, it is difficult to justify the enormous price tag of the competition. This one does the job. I have never cleaned a photosensor before, but using this has allayed my fears. I am not sure what "low" and "high" power modes refer to in the product description above.
