Cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I'm not as impressed by this helmet as everyone else. The way the head strap is fixed to the inside of the helmet means that it relies heavily on the chin strap to hold itself on. Compared to our last helmet, the strap must be tighter to stop it flipping backwards from the front, which makes it less comfortable. It also tightens by turning to the left, contrary to every other product that screws tight. I've tried it both on our 8 month old and our almost three year old. It's bigger than expected given the measurements we took, their heads both fit within the stated range for a good fit, but it doesn't work with either of them. I believe this is a case of getting what you pay for, and perhaps I'm fussier than some. The specialized helmet we had before cost 3x the price, but it was comfortable and couldn't be pushed off by our son, without needing to have the strap tight enough to risk the dreaded neck pinch. It's also thicker than this one without being bulkier. I've paid the money for a new pair of those instead.
