Really good read. Amazing descriptions. Of early jets, astonishing record of training pilots from the rear seat without any controls to take over if something went wrong.

This author describes his book perfectly in the title. Before through his career remembering every aircraft he flew and how he dangled it. An excellent book. One I
could not put down.

This account reveals that the initial flying training was demanding. Many were selected but few chosen. But once the settling in period is over, the thrill of mastering the machine. Allowed one time to enjoy the beauty of the freedom that is flight.
Any one whom has been lucky enough to experience "gliding" will enjoy the experiences of the author.

Very well told and very entertaining. It reminded me of my own enthusiasms during the same period. And I think it would be every bit as enjoyable for anyone far younger than I am now.

A great read from a man who had a fortunate career in the RAF, in the era when the RAF had its most interesting mix of aeroplanes.

Of interest mainly to a reader with some experience of RAF life. A bit too over technical in some parts.

Knowing the author and being interested in the subject matter, I found a very enjoyable read and quickly read it in a few days. It provides a good insight into RAF life as a pilot in the classic jet era. Well worth reading even if you don't know the author.
