Impressive quality for the price
on 19 March 2018
Wanted this for family meal photos in dimly lit restaurants in the Mediterranean. I have a Canon 50mm f/1.8 but the 50mm is just a bit too "zoomed" on a crop sensor camera. This gives the extra width and for the price (and having autofocus) I was impressed with the quality. It probably wont get the most glowing score on DXOmark but it produced results as good as most "kit" zoom lenses and isn't embarrassed by the Canon 50mm either. I'm sure for the quality-at-all-costs types there are better options, but you'd have to spend 7-8x (or more) which for most people is too much. If you want to take lowish light photos without breaking the bank then this is well worth a try.
