This is a whirlwind tour of building business in a deliberate hurry. As you would expect from the title the author uses robust and colourful language. The author is totally honest and frank and tells you about her mistakes as well as her triumphs. She follows clear route one plans with a ruthless energy and anybody that knows me bites their tongue to resist the urge to say jfdi to me. However, the reservation that I have is that the author has paid a high price in terms of relationships, health and co-operation with others. Her organization has expanded through co-operation yet numerous times in the book she provides blunt opinions about the character and reliability of other people. Success at all cost in my opinion is not worth paying but I acknowledge that the world needs more dynamic and focused people.
Wow Kate, You have excelled yourself again, I can't wait to take the time to re-read this book, do the exercises and then finally JFDI! I thought your previous book "stop reading self help books" was probably the best most down to earth business book I've ever read, but this is better because it actually helps you create a plan and strategy for helping you get your business (or life actually) from where it is right now to where you want (need?) it to be...
The great thing about this book is that it is well structured, flows well, doesn't have any fluff or filler, it gets straight to the point and is written by someone who has been there and done it herself. There are great little anecdotes (but not too much waffle) which just back up the tips and make it real. Kate does not mess around and it really is infectious, you finish the book wanting to leap out of bed and crack on with some implementation.... Which is what I'm going to do right now!.....
BTW If you are reading this and don't have I Kates first book, don't mess around, JFDI and buy both, even though the first books title suggests that perhaps you shouldn't buy the second!
Just like her last book, Kate's writing style is direct and easy to follow, and made this book thoroughly enjoyable. I was very fortunate to have taken her JFDI course and the book is also great. Her passion, belief, hard work, and commitment to succeed, comes through in her writing, she remains an inspiration.
As usual she engages the reader. Just like her last book, and great novels, I couldn't put it down.
Well done Kate - i wonder what's next - I'd also love an audio version of her two books.
Simple, easy to follow layout, hard hitting, soul searching rules to follow if you want to be a success, all with a few F-bombs thrown in to ensure you hear the words in Kate's own style. It might be marmite, some will love, some won't like, but at least this book gives a framework to follow, it doesn't tease you with the idea of one. All you need to do is add the effort. Two day plan is booked in my diary already - today.
Thank you Kate for a brilliant book! I couldn't put it down. So much practical information and it certainly makes you think. The key now is to implement. You book has motivated me to take action. Its a fantastic book I would advise anyone who buys it don't just read it...study it!
Unbelievable - WHAT A GREAT READ!!!!! IT WILL ABSOLUTELY ENSURE I GET RESULTS in 2015 and beyond!! Kate's first book was outstanding - I didn't think that this would beat it - but it has! Can't wait for the third one......
