It works in he sense you can play your music via the Amazing Fire TV stick but lacks functionality compared with phone and computer apps

The free version gives to a choice of moods, i.e. party, relaxing, etc, but the premium one doesn't.

Well, don't be under any illusion that this is Spotify. It's basically a "casting" app, which means you need another mobile device to cast spotify from. It's really poor that there's no official Spotify app for Fire TV, particularly since there's a big old Spotify logo on the front of the Fire TV box.

And in truth - it's not working for me. I have multiple android devices (HTC One M8, and 2013 Nexus 7), and neither of them are able to see the Fire TV despite them all being on the same network.

So all in all - good job it's free.

Having previously loved this product, the latest iteration has prevented me from properly accessing other apps on my Fire TV. It totally takes over the Amazon controls (ex. Play, Fast Forward, Rewind, etc.) whenever it's running in the background, meaning that if I use Netflix, Amazon Prime TV, or any other app that requires these buttons, it brings me back to Spotify. I have reinstalled several times and it's definitely a permanent bug. Until it's fixed I'm uninstalling, and want to warn others it ruins your experience of the Fire TV!!

This has generally worked very well but recently it is a complete lottery as to whether my Fire TV will be shown as available to Connect from any connected device. Sometimes it works, sometimes is doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any reason as both devices (Fire TV and the other device e.g. phone) are connected to the same wifi and both fully working apart from Spotify Connect. Very frustrating.
