Original, clever, dark and twisted
on 7 September 2013
I came across this comic last year whilst exploring my new Kindle. I saw Twisted Dark pop up whilst looking through various graphic novels and thought, for under a pound, I couldn't go wrong.
After reading the first story in this collection, it became pretty clear that I had got more than just a bargain. After reading the rest of the book, I felt GUILTY for having paid so little! So much so, I'm going to buy the paperback! It's that good!
Each story is unique and - you guessed it - dark and twisted. The illustrations are awesome, with a mixture of very talented artists at hand, giving each story its own look and feel, making them all stand out in their own way and the dialogue leaves a real mark on your mind. Combined, you get a whole series of very memorable, and at times, haunting experience.
One of the reasons why I love these stories so much isn't just because they are well written or creepy; it's because none of them are supernatural. All the stuff you read here could, and most likely has happened in the world we live in. Now, in itself, that may not sound like a big deal, but you'd only say that if you hadn't read the book...
On that note, I heavily encourage you to give this awesome series a read. As I said, it's worth the extra money for the paperback, but if you're a little hard up on cash or just tight, then your gonna get an absolute steal from the kindle store!
There's a new talent on the comic book scene, and this guy is one to watch.
Volume 2 is even better, but that's not really for here...
