Not as advertised France's answer to The Wire but France's answer to 'The Shield' Series 3 is on a par with Series 1 and better than Series 2 which did get a little unbelievable at times. Series 3 has a number of plot lines, the first involves a war between various groups of the Russian and Armenian Mafia, the second involves a young women who has a grudge against Caplan and enlists Vogel to get her revenge. Expect the usual violence, gunfights and general mayhem on the streets of suburban Paris. There are also a number of flashbacks to the time when Max was still alive and in charge of the squad. Eddie and Walter are still as tough as ever but Rox shows sights of cracking under the strain. As per the first two series this one also ends on a cliff hanger which means hopefully there will be a series 4.

One concern however is watching Braquo and Spiral does France not have any French gangsters or are they all North African or East European?

There's not a lot of change from the first two series. Lots of gore and violence, enigmatic villains who usually get their come-uppance, car chases, gun battles - you name it. The team at least more or less manage to operate within the law for once, as long as it suits them. The characters haven't altered a lot. But why should they?

It's really more of the same. If you enjoyed the first two series, you'll enjoy this one. I did, very much. And the ending pretty well promises a fourth series. Great - keep them coming.

I thoroughly enjoyed series 3, which is up there with series 1. Series 2 suffered by stretching things a little too far (hard to believe given the storylines of the other series), so it is good to see the guys bounce back with a gritty tale with numerous plotline. As always Jean-Hugues Anglade as Eddie Caplan is superb, great screen presence.

On a minor note and probably not of interest to most of you on here: I thought I would improve my French by buying the French version and following the French subtitles. Worked a treat except that there were no subtitles for the Russian dialogue! And as there was a lot this early on it did cause problems with understanding with what was going on. (I know I should post this on!)

Well worth watching and I hope there is a Braquo 4.

What's not to like? Even more high octane, more incredulous yet thoroughly entertaining romp through the Parisian underworld than the previous offerings! Mind you, the fact that Eddy seems able to park an Audi Q7 and a Porsche Cayenne anywhere in Paris without having to queue or do extremely delicate manoeuvrings is a stretch too far!

TOP 1000 REVIEWERon 1 September 2015
Raw, violent and action-filled, this third series of “Braquo” more than lives up to its predecessors. I’m uncertain, though, as to how it can get away with a classification of 15. Even more than previously, the focus falls upon Eddie Caplan. The lingering scenes of him in the shower suggest that for women viewers, anyway, he has become a potent sex symbol. With Theo largely absent, Walter remains a rather wooden, predictable stooge and Rox is reduced to a very limited contribution in terms of dialogue. The series is not to be celebrated for its subtlety. It has none of the character complexities of “Spiral”, but it carries conviction and takes us on a roller-coaster ride of mounting tension and unrelenting excitement. I've some uncertainties about the conviction of some of the Russian characters, but overall the series exerts a powerful grip.

Picking up from Season Two's explosive ending, this tough cop show sees Eddy Caplan and his friends pitted against Russian gangsters and stalked by their old enemy Vogel. As they battle both things go from bad to worse and this season ends with a double cliffhanger that suggests there must be a fourth helping in the works. As before, this gritty tale pulls no punches and is a fine example of French Noir enriched by lots of dark atmosphere and fine performances not least that of Jean-Hugues Anglade as "Caplan."

Gritty, believable, no frills. The characters are what you might expect from cops who are doing such a dirty job. The script is sparse but to the point, not some dressed-up dialogue that American police series so often give you which just leave you feeling you have listened to a script. With Braquo I was left feeling I was watching something that was real. Real-life police drama and all the repercussions that come with a job like that.
Excellent would be my rating. Have seen Series One and Two, can't wait for Series Three.

I got hooked on this series watching series 1 & 2 on Netflix so purchased series 3. I love the down to earth characters and gritty story lines. Yes, it is in French with English subtitles but I had no problem with that. I sincerely hope they bring out a 4th series as number 3 finished with several cliff hangers.

Gritty, noir, tense,no punches pulled cops versus bad guys- but the lines between the 2 get very blurred ......
A very good TV series that follows an elite police unit that focuses on high profile crimes. The personal lives of the cops are in taters as a result of the constant grind of their jobs dealing with the worst elements of society who play by no rules. If the cops play by the rules they can never this leads them to bend, and go beyond the rules to win, while avoiding the attention of internal affairs and politicians who want the results but don't want to acknowledge what it really takes to get said results, never mind support the cops. The team is dwindling, as previous members have been killed sans replacement. Hopefully the series 4 will introduce some new team members to add some new elements and interest. The amount of cigarette smoking is prodigious in this series(hopefully not sponsored by the tobacco industry), and in a way its good to see the French refuse to kow-tow to the Americanisms of eliminating anything PI in their shows. Horrors they also show drinking of alcohol!!! along with many bullets fired, which the Americans have no problem with, unlike the smoking/drinking. My only quibble is the team leader is clearly far too old for this part, in spite of his excellent hair colouring job.
