I really enjoyed this book and hope I get to read the second in the series, was not expecting a lot going in to reading it but I was pleasantly surprised. I particularly enjoyed the post battle statistics.

Starts off in an epic space battle that bogs itself down in it's overall size and structure. The narrative itself is ok, but there's nothing to hook the reader or create empathy with the characters (not that most live longer than a paragraph anyway).

Seriously underwhelmed, I was expecting much more from this book.
The writing was clinical, loads of figures and percentages and a distinct lack of connection with any of the characters, mainly because they get killed off.
Other reviewers have said to the author to read some military history and i must concur, very little grasp of the realities of combat etc
too many faults to mention, not getting any sequels.
Annoying.

The book reads like it has been translated from another language, also the author doesn't seem to have a grasp of military tactics or language. the universe does show promise with an Implacable foe, but please please Lee read some military history, find out how the ranks communicate to each other. your Admiral wasnt credible.

A wonderful and enjoyable read. Always has action going on and always with enough detail to keep you gripped. I hope for another in to follow. A must for all space military readers.

Yawn, yawn, yawn...Got 10% through this book. Got bored. Went to the last 10% . Still the same. If you want just one space battle, and nothing else, this book is for you

This was an enjoyable read that kept me amused. Good old space opera and believable science. I would recommend if you like this type of book.

only part way through so far it's ok but not as good as I hoped. thought it might be similar as David Weber's Stars at War books but not.

If you want a book that is really an account of massive space battles then this is for you. If you want a tale with one dimensional characters and no real story line this is also for you. But it's not for me. This is junk.

A very shallow book - no development or characterisation and very little plot - reasonable description of battles... and not much else
