Part 1 - The lady herself Undoubtably talented and friendly, patient and a great role model to boot. She is a modern young artist who is brave enough to admit to being normal and human. My daughter looks up to her and if she turns out like Sophie has (not to mention her career!) then she'll be doing fine in my book. We picked up her CD during the Spring Only Men Aloud tour and were fortunate enough to meet her and the Men afterwards. Despite a long queue and an even longer journey home awaiting them they were all chatting and smiling to the end. Troopers all!
Part 2 - The voice Sophie knows exactly how to phrase and sell a song. All the pauses and emphasis are in the right places. Quite often there is just a beat of anticipation before she then belts out the crescendo and reaches that top note that you were hoping would be there.
Part 3 - The album An excellent mix of songs with each one a strong entry. There is no filler here. This CD has been on repeat on my daughter's CD player since March. Save the World is perhaps slightly less well known than some of the others but that makes it stand out all the more as it is easier to accept Sophie's version as the definitive. If there is one slight regret, it is that there are not more up tempo tracks on here, but it makes for a more intimate album without. Hopefully this is the first of many recordings and the livelier songs are a future treat to look forward to.
