In my callow youth, I ventured to declare that St Therese of Lisieux couldn't be much of a saint as " anybody could do what she did!" Challenged to try following her prescription for one day, I found that it was far more difficult than I had judged it to be, indeed, I found it well nigh impossible to carry out in practice. This book should be read by everybody who holds my crass opinion. Those who already know and value St. Therese will also find it valuable. I shall be recommending it to my children, god-children and friends to help them to lead a life that will not only benefit themselves but also the society in which they live.
