On first play this release is fantastic, after a couple of plays it's even better. It is true that the sad passing of Trevor Bolder was a big loss to Heep and rock music in general but after recently seeing Heep live and hearing this release praise must go out to Davey Rimmer who had that difficult role of following a true bass legend. I read in another review that the bass is hardly heard but I must totally disagree with that, infact its very prominent in all songs especially on Jessie which is a superb song. I love Trevor and Davey will never replace such a legend but credit where credit is due, the boys done good.

All the Heep trademarks are there with some new interesting and exciting ideas mixed in. Russell plays hard and gives that modern edge with Davey pounding out the rhythm with exact timing. Phils Hammond is loud and clear throughout and Mick is kept very busy. Bernie matures with each album and its hard to fault him at all. It's an instant classic in my opinion and just what Heep and their management would have hoped for. It's modern with hints of the past thrown in every now and then. It's all very same paced but thats not a critiscm, far from it as I listened to this on my walk tonight on my ipod. It's no surprise that I was back earlier than normal ;-) Yes similar pace but each song has something different. My early favourites are The Law, the title track and can't take that away. This rivals Sea of Light as Mick and Phil's greatest writing achievement. If you're into Heep or a lover of top quality rock music this is a must buy.
