I like natural remedies where possible, and was interested to know which herbs would be useful for which ailments. However, this reads like a list of old wives' tales, with no supporting references or scientific backup.

Uses are often suggested for a herb without clear enough instructions to indicate how it's to be applied, for example: "Mint has a soothing effect when applied to the skin." I think following some of the advice given without further information might even be dangerous; for example: "The Sage can be used as fresh or dried as a cooking agent or a medicine. As a tea, it can also be used externally for the skin and gargle for sore throats or teeth and gum problems. The essential oil however is never ingested and should be separated." There is no instruction for making the tea or separating the essential oil.

Sometimes there are inaccuracies, for example, of Lavender the author says: "The leaves are covered in fine hairs called 'indumentum' which contain essential oils." But lavender oil is distilled from the flower spikes (see 'Norfolk Lavender' website).

There are often meaningless statements, for example: "The components of the [Black] Seeds are composed of strong natural chemicals, thus giving it the color black." What are 'strong natural chemicals' and why should they be black? And an editor should have eliminated such howlers as: "A Dandelion is a white colored light weight plant forming a milky way like shape that and can be found usually in open fields mixing with other herbs with the same characteristics."

A disappointing little book which I can't recommend.

This is really great. it gives tons of homemade oils and tea recipes using all herbal ingredients. These recipes are great natural remedies for many different ailments. The book tells you exactly what kind of things that each specific herbs are known to help cure. The list goes on and on. I would recommend this book for anyone and all people who are into natural remedies. Great Book. Highly recommended. The really awesome thing is, because they are all herbal, many of these things we can use on our young ones when we don't feel comfortable using chemically enhanced products. Love it.
