Not for those who want to stay awake for long it has to be said. Whilst it may be reasonably historically accurate, especially given the authors background in military music, the dryness of the writing is essentially boring and predictable. My head hit my tablet so many times nodding off trying to read that I had to give up at 13%. So, do yourself a favour, leave this one on the Amazon e-bookshelf and pick up a decent novel - something like 'Invasion' by DC Alden - now that's a cracking good read!!

I gave up reading this when I was about half way through.
Unbelievable... a singer with all sorts of military abilities is recruited to the MI5, yet within days he is stupid enough to be picked up by a female KGB member???
Oh! Come on!!!

to add insult to injury, the writing is incredibly stilted and poor.

I just loved this book!! A really good old fashioned spy story with such a believable plot I couldn't put it down and was reading till past 2am to finish it.
So many creative characters, brilliant twists, romance and tyranny.

Quite an interesting premise for a thriller. However there are a few too many convenient turns for my liking. Interesting historical story though.

Absolutely BRILLIANT. A couldn't put down book, it kept me on my toes from page one till the last page. Definitely worth the bleary eyes from lack of sleep. David Baird is sexier and more talented than Mr Bond. The plot has subtle twists and undercurrents that keep you wondering till the very end, action and lots' of intrigue. Thank you Mr Currie, when is the next one please?

Plenty of twists and turns, jazzy novel keeps you going from the first page to the last, not to be missed
