very hot to opperate

By sweetie bought this for mybirthday and Aster a couple of false starts I was able to make reliable waffles. The waffles are thinner -about 1 cm thick, than standard American or Belgian waffles and are more like the one used for ice cream. It takes 1/4 to 1/3 cups of standard pancake (American) batter per waffle. Do not try and use more or it will squooge out the sides of the machine and make a huge mess.
The machine lid and "handle" where you grip to open it get VERY HOT when at full capacity. Despite using olive oil and a pastry brush, more than the fu light the recommend, the lid can stick and you have to pry it open. Which when it's hot is not fun.
It s ok, but I would recommend investing in something with a heart resistant handle.
