Nathan East makes his solo album debut packed with his musical chums, quality playing and interesting arrangements of well trodden but very classy themes. Stand out moments include "Sir Duke" with stunning brass and "Moondance" where a certain Mr McDonald breaks the old mould with a stunning vocal start! Great stuff!

Nathan is the best bass guitarist in the music industry, having played with many of the 'greats'. This, his first solo album, is fantastic.

I'm listening to the original ( Fourplay ) version of 101 Eastbound as I write this . Its actually the only Fourplay track that I keep in my library . The original bass part was stunning as was the entire arrangement ... the rhythm guitar / keyboard underneath the melody was so delicious as was Nathans wonderful bass / vocal solo .
Well ... all of that is gone on this pointless remake ... sorry .
Sir Duke .... totally pointless to the point of being annoying . I can see that the players may have enjoyed themselves but this adds nothing to Stevie's original .
Moondance ... awful ! Check Michael Mc D in his early years ... I really hate people wheeling him on to over emote like this . He is a phenomenal singer and his early work was way beyond special . He is in danger of becoming like Meryl Streep ... awful !
Cant Find My way Home .... oh no ! Not another version of this ... really should be left well alone ... Eric and Steve did this ; it belongs in that time zone .... dreadful cliche guitar from Eric .... a bad bad mistake to do this again ....
I so wanted to like this ... Nathan is such a great player .
Somewhere else we have a father and son thing that really should have remained at home ....
Stevie Wonder performs on harmonica elsewhere & it lifts the whole project briefly ... very very special for a few moments .
I was hoping Nathan might make an album like Abraham Laboriel did with Friendship or Koinonia ...
This is annoying muzak ... avoid !
