This was much better than I thought it would be, I did think that it was a strange choice for Dominic Cooper to star as Ian Fleming but once you start watching it you get hooked and he does a really good job of the portrayal, Recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyed Fleming-The Man Who Would Be Bond. Can now understand how and why Ian Fleming created the most amazing fictional spy charter of all time - Bond, 007. If this is a true rendition of the character of Ian Fleming in this movie then one can see that there is so much of him in Bond. The suaveness, the arrogance the utter distain for rules and regulations. Very aptly named Fleming - The Man Who Would Be Bond. Loved this movie and highly recommend fans of James Bond 007, to watch this movie I don't believe you will be disappointed.

Enjoyed this greatly - the life of the man behind the mythos, but perhaps watered down for tv,

Takes Ian Fleming's real life and embroiders it a bit, based on what was clearly his own fantasy (in part, as for many of his readers) to "be" Bond. Yet Fleming's own life was in some emotional and social ways MORE remarkable than his fictional creation. Fantastic concept, brilliantly acted and photographed, and some serious character and historical insight to boot. One of the best things I've come across in years. Of course, a Blu-ray from a modern era mini series is outstanding technically, as one would hope and expect. Not many extras, but what there is, is excellent. Warning: there is some very "non politically correct" but, in my view, psychologically accurate, sex in this. (Not really physically explicit - on the contrary it's the emotional aspects of it that may provoke disagreement depending on your mindset). The opening sequence alone is worth the price.

into the character of Ian Fleming from his privileged background to finding forte in World War 2 and later life as a very successful author. Well acted by the cast, with no holes left untouched as regards Fleming's private and professional lives. One of the joys of the set was trying to work out which character in real life became in the books!

Why invent false adventures about Fleming (when his life in interesting enough anyway) if not to pander to tastes distorted by years of Hollywood bang bang boom boom? An interesting portrait spoiled by Boys Own Paper stuff for the half-baked.

I would recommend anyone who is a fan of the James Bond Franchise or are curious of the Iconic Figure of the creator of James Bond. The creator and author was Ian Fleming who at one time had a brother who was more successful than he that is for a time. Espionage is the main topic and gave birth to a great Franchise. Actually I rarely have watched James Bond but am interested in the creator. Who he was and what made him & who was him.
