In many ways this is a typical Pink Martini album. It is beautifully arranged and produced with interesting songs in lots of languages. Amanda, August, Melanie and Sofia Von Trapps offer an interesting contrast to usual vocalists China Forbes, Storm Large and Timothy Nishimoto.

There is no Pink Martini presence on the two acapella tracks although band leader Thomas M Lauderdale does appear on all but one of the others. Upright bass player Phil Baker and drummer Anthony Jones each appear on about half the tracks.but otherwise appearances by Pink Martini band members are thin on the ground. A more honest description of the album would be 'The Von Trapps, Thomas Lauderdale and friends'.

Having said this the Von Trapps sing beautiful vocal harmonies on a series of songs that probably most merit the description of 'sweet'.If you like your Pink Martini with lots of up tempo Latin tracks you will be very disappointed. The best advice I can give is listen to the samples from the album before buying. If you enjoy exploring the multitude of musical directions followed by Pink Martini in recent albums this could well be to your taste. From an Abba song in Swedish to a Francoise Hardy song in French I found much to enjoy.

A brilliant combination of songs and voices between the two groups of performers, something for everyone and even better when seen live in concert.

As another reviewer remarked, this is not the usual type of Pink Martini album. It doesn't have their usual lead singer and the songs are slightly different in style. Having said all that, this is a good album. Its difference is its plus point. All of the song s are good, with the exception of Edelweiss, which in my view is sung very badly. This is overall a good album and Iwould recommend it.

Pink Martini always come up with something different and Dream a little Dream is no exception. It's a wonderful way to wind down after a hectic day, listening to something different, but good, and relaxing.

What a treat but then no surprises, as it is up to the expected standard of all their CDs. Sheer brilliance in teaming up with the Von Trapps, and together, real magic. Just admire the receptiveness and enjoyment exhibited by Pink Martini in recording beautiful music from the richness of all the very best of any country throughout the world. Well done!

We didn`t know what to expect but soon warmed to the group and invited guests of the Von Trapps. Two lovely arrangements, "Fenando" and "Black Cat Tango." We think this is a lovely album and Pink Martini don`t ever let us down.

A pleasant album but too much emphasis on the Von Trapps who are undoubtedly talented but a little tame compared to the usual Pink Martini albums which were all 5 star.

I'm a big fan of Pink Martini and although this CD is quite pleasant it is too much Von Trapps!!

I love this.

The Pinks are joined by The Von Trapps – and the result is wonderful, if different from previous Pink martini albums.

Highlights for me include the title track, 'Fernando' and 'Lonely Goatherd' (the latter particularly since being able to sing along with the band and The Von Trapps in concert.

The sort of album that just leaves you with a grin on your face.

Another classic cd from Pink Martini with the added attraction of the Family Von Trapp. Slightly eccentric selection of songs but they do get into your head and you'll soon be singing along!!
