This new set brings together all 10 studio albums that UFO recorded for Chrysalis between 1974 and 1986. As with other titles in this Warner Music series (Saxon title released on the same date - The Complete Albums 1979-1988), each CD is housed in a card sleeve replicating the original album artwork ("Force It" features the US LP cover) - these are then housed in a sturdy card outer box, which features full tracklistings on the rear.

The audio on each album is the same as on the remasters released by EMI between 2007 and 2009 (when Chrysalis fell under the EMI ownership, before it moved to Warner in 2013). The good news is that each album features the bonus tracks from the previous editions - so in total there are 41 extra tracks (made up of B-sides, live tracks, and other bonus material which was previously unreleased until the EMI remasters).

Curiously, Warner issued 5 of these 10 albums in their "Original Album Series" range as recently as January 2014 (Original Album Series) and presumably they plan to issue the other 5 in that same series at some point. However, the OAS set only includes the original albums with no bonus tracks - so, I suppose the decision on what to purchase depends on what you already own and how important non-album bonus tracks are to you!

Sadly, the one letdown with "The Complete Studio Albums" is the lack of any kind of booklet - even a basic one with songwriter credits / more info on the origins of the bonus tracks etc. would have been nice (one star removed in my rating for this!). It's not a cheap set, so it does feel a slight letdown without a booklet. If you just want the audio then you can't go wrong with this set, but if sleeve notes / credits etc. are important to you, then it'd be worth paying the extra and picking up the individual CD remasters of these albums instead.

Overall, this is a nice looking set - the card sleeves are smart, the extra tracks are a definite bonus, and it's a great way to purchase 10 original UFO albums.

This set has all the Chrysalis studio albums in one handy box. UFO are one of my favorite 3 bands so I'm somewhat biased but if you've never heard them start with the live Strangers In The Night set and then splash some cash on this collection. All remastered with awesome sound and over 40 cool bonus tracks both studio and live.

one of the greatest hard rock bands ever and you get lots of classic cd's here with bonus tracks. You don't get their early psych rock stuff though. which came out before these. Still you do get a powerful bunch of cd's that you should rock to. this band deserves to be in the hall of fame. They finally put deep purple in it thank god. But here you get real music done by masters of rock.

I bought this boxed set before two days in my favourite local cd shop"Dancing Bear".I never had anything(from this era, except first album) but liked everything through all these years.Every album is powerful, particularly in the mould of hard rock.Don't miss and worth to have in almost every collection.

Ten UFO albums in a neat clamshell box. Starting with Phenomenon through to Misdemeanor. Cds come in cardboard wallets. Highlights? Oh so many Doctor Doctor, Rock Bottom, Shoot Shoot, Mother Mary, Natural Thing, Too hot to handle, Lights Out and Only you can rock me are just some from the first five albums which featured on the live Strangers in the night album. But the nect five albums are packed full of quality ufo. Buy it you will not be disappointed.
