The movie opens with a scene between Eric McCormack and his "one blue dress" wife (Jody Thompson) then quickly jumps to one year later. Eric is taking his two kids Cynthia (Conner Dwelly) and Jake (Ryan Grantham) to an isolated cabin in the woods, the childhood getaway home of his now deceased wife, a cabin in the wintry woods where every horror film dwells. We are revealed details of her demise as a flashback, something they could have done better.

I honestly didn't know where this was going, i.e. slasher, ghost etc. The events build slow and the next thing you know things are going on and you have no ideal what is real and what is not although the film does give clues. It turns out to be a decent mystery/horror film. I thought the title was clever as "Barricade" has a duo meaning as Eric has "barricaded" himself emotionally from his his children.

When I first saw the WWE previews I did a double take as I thought I had purchased a film about a cage match.

Parental Guide: No F-bombs, sex, or nudity. "S" word. Might work for a sleepover. Rated PG-13, but more of a PG-11.

I liked this film. I thought it had great tension, scary bits and things to work out (as you're not quite sure what's going on). What was supposed to be a fun time for a father and his kids whilst staying in a cabin in the woods turns into a nightmare. I could think of better places to be and wont be booking a holiday there!

This movie starts quite well and fills you with hope, however it quickly declines and ends up all over the place .Neither you nor the actors in the movie know what's going on.....so please don't look for an explanation as to what you've just watched...you wont have a clue! .....

Quite a good film, a father and his two children going to a house for Xmas break but everything is not as it seems!
What happens is good viewing and it is not untill the end of the film that you realise whats been going on!

The moral of the story is Don't mix Clonazepam, alcohol, stress & fever after the loss of your wife!!

This film is OK, nothing more or nothing less..... an 'ok' way to spend 1 hr 15 minutes if you can not find another film to watch... not exactly what I would call a horror film though!!
