Got this on Monday, listened a few times and decided it was ok. On Tuesday however, I loved it and have been playing it constantly.

Unlike 2010's more rocked out and orchestrated " A Way Away", this is a gentler and smoother record. The dark gothic imagery is gone and as the album cover shows, light has flooded in. Warm acoustic guitars, strings and glacial pianos complement Jonsu's distinct vocals. In places this is quite beautiful and uplifting. Again we get strong melodies, sometimes odd lyrics and always a faint whiff of Eurovision.

I must admit Indica have always been a bit of a guilty pleasure. You'd turn them down if your mate walked in. I don't usually listen to such blatantly uplifting and sunny music. It took me a few listens to get my head around this but I got rewarded.

Standout tracks for me are: A Mountain Made Of Stone, Uncovered, Hush Now Baby and War Child.

I would have to agree with most of M P Hall's description of this album. It is a lot more lighter sound and is probably an album that you listen a little bit more in the background than nod your head to...

Whether or not you will enjoy it from an Indica fan will depend on if you preferred the likes of "Errie Eden" and "Children of Frost" over the songs like "As If" and "Straight and Arrow" from the previous album. This album is more of the former songs rather than the later two. Personally, I'm not so split in my preference (from reading other general reviews, people tend to list their favourites on one side or the other) so give the album four stars as I do miss slightly the more rocked up songs...

For those not familiar with Indica, it is hard to explain what Indica sounds like. Unfortunately, due to Amazon's "People who bought this album also bought this other one", people seem to think they are some sort of heavy rock band - they are not. The mistake in genre classing is due to the fact they are signed to the Nuclear Blast label who pretty much specialise on operatic metal and similar heavy rock and sopranos / grunting bands. Plus they are produced (at least the first album was) by Tuomas Holopainen - the keyboardist from Nightwish.

The singer's finnish accent sounds strange when singing in English and anyone who has heard their cover of Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights will appreciate a remarkable similarity in voice, although this is less obvious on most of their songs where she isn't trying to sound a bit like Kate. But if you hate Kate's voice, you might not enjoy Indica.

Since Indica is likely to be a marmite band where you will either love or hate, I would recommend typing Indica into youtube and watch a few of their videos. I suspect by now there will be videos of tracks on this album available to watch.

Way Away had great bouncey pop rock with catchy choruses. Shine does not. 1 and 2 good,3 ok, after that, hhhmmm, I began to struggle. Likely to go into the collection and not see the "light of day". To many ballards, not enough guitars. Just can't get into it. So wanted more. PS in my opinion you should take a clue from the cover, this isn't being sold on the music :(.

Sad to say that this is not a patch on the previous album and (for me) fails to deliver.

The songs all seem a bit wishy washy with hardly any of the quirkiness of the previous album.

Sorry ladies back to the drawing board.

I really love the songs on this album. It is a little bit different then the previous album ,less symphonic but the music is fantastic.A very unique style , a real Indica sound .

It was a gem of a discovery and a diamond to add to any collection. Brilliant to play soft or blast out
