I was expecting big things after Heavy in the Day, and having seen the band live on their last tour.

This album is well produced, however the tracks just don't resonate with me, I've listened and listened in the hope that the album will be a 'grower' but so far it's not happened. Even more disappointing as I'd been waiting for this release in anticipation for some time.

I still think this band will be destined for big things, and most bands that have hit the 'big time' have an album or two in their discog that just didn't cut the mustard. I'm just really hoping their next offering will be back to the standard of HITD.

A bit deeper and darker than before, but still the vocals and tunes shine through.
Catch them live - thoroughly recommended.
Fifty Five soon and have seen so many bands - but these lads are special

While not quite as good as their brilliant second album Heavy In The Day this is still an excellent album and much better than most better-selling and more well-known current music. If they had been around in the 90s they'd be selling albums by the shedload, unfortunately these days brilliant music by bands such as Canterbury tends to go unnoticed by the mainstream. My personal favourite tracks are the epic By the Trail and the punchy Elephant. Canterbury remain one of your favourite bands that you've never heard of like The Plea, Colt 45 and Sound Of Guns. Buy this, then buy Heavy In The Day!

This is the fantastic new release from one of the UK's foremost indie bands. There is something here for the die hard fans, as well as a new more considered sound which shows how the band is developing and growing in maturity.

They make full use of their two great lead vocallists, while their undoubted musical talent also comes to the fore all over the record. Their new drummer also kicks things along very nicely.

The opening number Expensive Imitation lulls you in with it's trippy opening sounds, then explodes out of the blocks, taking you along for the ride. Great track then follows great track and all to soon, after 11 top tunes,it's all over.

All in all this is a keeper!

Finally, try and catch them live, which is very much their natural environment. They are touring the UK throughout April, do yourself a favour and grab a ticket while you can.
