Roots set from Lloyd Brown for Zion High Records is his most complete, cohesive album for some years and follows his contributions to the excellent various artists LP Jah Golden Throne (also Zion High) last year. Quality, uncluttered rhythm tracks and first-rate musicianship throughout allow plenty of space for the vocals and lend an unhurried quality to the whole project. No trace here of the over-production that characterized some of Brown's more recent Riddimwize releases. Features some vital combinations with Queen Omega, Pressure Busspipe, Jahdan Blakamoore and Yisrael Immanuel.
I-ley recommended. Probably the top conscious roots set of the year.
