I bought this item back when it was released with the NEC gig aswell. Don't waste your time on the NEC gig, they've fallen out by then and its a half hearted attempt.

This CD however is a true classic Purple concert. The amazing versions of 'Anya', 'perfect strangers' and 'the battle rages on' really shine through on this album aswell as the usual classics.

All members are in great form and playing/singing as well as ever apart from possibly slightly weak vocals which is the only downside of this album but is to be expected from 20+years of endless touring so u cant blame him.

The production and sound quality are really really good all positive. This is an essential part of your purple collection and if your struggling to decide which concert to buy this is the one.

This is as good as Purple get, on a par with Made in japan, Blackmore is on fire with Lord and co not far behind. The one downside is Ian Gillan, bless him. his voice is OK but his intros are cringeworthy and his constant pronunciation of record as 'rekerd' is simply annoying. However forget that and listen to Ritchie blazing through the concert like a man possessed (which he probably was!) 5 stars, no doubt.

This recording is far better than the Birmingham "Come Hell or high water" recording.Quality is very good, all in all, a very good double cd for the price.

Universally praised in reviews, I finally saw a deal on it and picked it up. While it's an incredible sounding live recording, the band is rocky; especially on disc 2 which is insanely sloppy, even by DP standards. And Ian Gillan's between song banter is infuriating as he lost a bet or something before hitting the stage and he keeps talking about it and giving sports scores. Oh, and he can't remember the words to "Hush" so at one point he's just singing about that.

This is one of the best "Live" recordings that Ive heard. It completly captures the atmosphere of being at a Deep Purple concert.

Forget the nonsense one star review, purple and especially Blackmore are on fire. From the storming highway star onwards Blackmore is inspired. While this recording could never match made in Japan,it is as good as the reformed line up would sound during their later days.It is also a fabulous reminder of just how good the late Jon Lord was. His interplay with Blackmore is telepathic.A superb recording.
