Bought this book in anticipation of a good read but feel very ambivalent about it. I must admit that I skipped several pages and got to the end as swiftly as possible.

Unusually, the two main characters are pretty bland and boring. They are one dimensional, obsessed with sex and the storyline just seem to plod along. Not sure if this is a very early example of JA Krentz's work or just sloppy writing.

I was not at all interested in their romance or their happy ever after. Certainly not up to the high standards I have come to know and respect from this author. I continue to admire much of her work and enjoyed the majority of her books so will buy more.

One for the (very) dedicated fan, just not for me.

This novel is one of the main reasons I bought so many JAKs during the 80s and 90s. A romance between two emotionally mature adults, Amber and Gray. Throw in some adventure in the form of an important investment decision plus one of JAKs signature devices, the interest of the hero in an obscure hobby and you have a truely sparkling story about a love that grows slowly into something wonderful during the course of the novel. Very well crafted within the constraints of a 200 page book.

This has been reprinted several times and I find the book not to be dated as some of the other JAKs. It is a charming tale of a women who married a man because he is safe. She had a stormy relationship with a race car drivers that left her want a nice peaceful relationship. She gets that chance when he boss says they should get married. He says they work together well, there is no reason marriage cannot work. At first, Amber is unsure, but thinks it will work. But she soon finds her marriage is much more than a matter of convenience to them both.
When you add in some terrible poetry written by an obscure cowboy, the dialogue is JAK at her best.
A gentle gem.

A nice easy read. I have enjoyed reading this book very much. Jayne Ann Krentz is one of my favourite authors.

This was a nice easy read not perhaps up to her usual standard but I enjoyed it on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
