Lovely idea but very flimsy and poorly made
on 8 January 2016
Our 4 year old son adores this unconditionally, despite the fact that it's really flimsy and cheaply designed. The tiny carrots have to be balanced inside the 'barrel', so they tip out all the time and will doubtless soon get lost. Firing them out of the barrel as suggested in the video is impossible for a small child to operate and tricky even for an adult, because it involves squeezing a button on the back as hard as possible to very feebly 'puff' the carrots out, when it works. Even the barrel falls off a lot. The suit is difficult to stand up, toppling over a lot. The visor is difficult for little hands to open, and getting Tweak's hands onto the gear sticks is so fiddly that our son constantly has to ask us to do it for him. The red thing, after much puzzlement, we think is supposed to be a gulper eel, but again it doesn't really fit either Tweak's or the suit's grasp, and it doesn't do anything. The octoalert sound is great, but the other two sounds you have to rotate past are inoffensive but hard to make out. The design is a lovely idea, so it's a real shame it's been so poorly realised.
