"Le Secret", opens the album talking about sexual abuse. Other themes dealt with by this cd are relationships, identity, impulsivity, commitment, loss, confusion, same sex relationships, self image, reflection, addictions and life.
You don't have to understand French to feel the magic of this album. The range of music is diverse and Lara's voice never sounded better.
The music is a combination of orchestra, electronic sounds, celtic, latin, opera, and even a hint of middle eastern tones. The album opens and closes with the sound of a heartbeat.
There is a haunting quality to "Il est lune" and "Mirage" and enormous sadness in"Amourexique" and "Le Secret".
One can never tire of listening to "Ce qu'il reste","Mon désir","L'Enfant du Gwenwed" and"Iam A-WA" .
The album reminds me of Kate Bushes's Aerial and Olivia Newton-John's Grace and Gratitudue.
Lara Fabian's new album Le Secret shows a new dimension to Lara. Lara teams up with Janey Clewer, Giora Linenberg,Flavien Compagnon, Bruce Gaitsch and Manu Pitois.
All the lyrics are as in her previous Albums penned by Lara herself.
The cd contains 17 tracks split between two CDs and interspersed with musical interludes.
In its first week of its release It entered the French album charts at number 1 with sales of 20,000 unit. It also peaked at no.1 in the Belgian charts.
This long awaited new album is a gem. A must for every Lara fan. The voice is as good, if not better, than ever. Some haunting tracks delivered by an artist at her very best. If you love Lara you'll love this. Looking forward to the concert tour later this year when I can see her sing these tracks live.
This double album feels more like an opera or show, I really don't know whether it was conceived that way, but its a huge piece of work and probably her best album. Hugely successful in France it returned her to the No.1 spot again after more than a decade. Lovely album that will I'm sure only improve with repeated listening's.
Easy listening CD from Lara Fabian good for listening in the car or in traffic jams. Some very good music although to be honest I found some aspects acutely irritating. A lot of the tracks start or end with an individual sound, such as a bell, or the sound of a tap, or similar, and this becomes actually quite irritating. If you ignore this, this is a good deal. It came with a DVD (which I've not had time to view yet) and 2 CDs. Some tracks very very good, very rousing, others a bit sameish. Either way not a bad deal.
