TOP 1000 REVIEWERon 5 November 2014
"Prisoners" is a surprisingly good soundtrack album, one that's worthy of a purchase. The score is quite dark and somber in tone, but it's a worthwhile listening experience if you like classical or film music.

The film and it's screenplay are so finely tuned, and fortunately the music by Johann Johannsson is also crafted with such precision. The score is never overbearing - it keeps its distance, slowly building the suspense in the background. When the music does come up in a more dramatic fashion, it makes it all the more thrilling.

I can hear that the music is great, but it is through an appalling crackling sound. This is what heat-twisted LPs sounded like: repetitive, rhythmic crackling. Fabulous music ruined by an appalling download. £7.49 wasted.

Johann Johannsson deserves more recognition. His scores are always of the highest quality and appropriately evoke the required responses and emotions from the audience.

This is a great CD release and contains the full score for Prisoners, and sounds great.
