No memory but has powers - enjoyable superpower romp with well fleshed characters
on 1 November 2013
This is the first in a series planned by the author.
Troy has no memory of who he is, where he came from or why he can do the things he can. Brad seems too good to be true and i joined Troy in waiting for the other shoe to drop, the dynamic between the two, with Brad becoming the father Troy can't remember was one of the core tenants of this novel for me providing a nice background to the superpower action
I liked the way that Troy slowly realizes that he's not like other people, and the speed at which the story develops meant that i finished this in one sitting.
If you ever idly wondered what you would do if you found yourself with superpowers this is one for you, watch as Troy develops his costume, persona and Clark Kent esque alter ego.
The author manages to hold your interest throughout and has some nice well rounded characters that don't fall into the pitfalls of other similar genres in being one dimensional, it's also delivers some twists and turns that make me give this novel 4 stars.
I hope the next in the series delivers on the promise of Invincible
