Breathless - with laughter!
on 15 November 2013
I'm not sure how the actors in this 1960s-set confection managed to keep straight faces while uttering such risible dialogue. It just goes to show what sheer professionals they are.
The plot - ludicrous beyond all belief - is like a short story that fell out of the pages of some archaic women's magazine and landed with a dull thud on the Axminster.
Having said that, I must own up that I did actually quite enjoy some of it. That would be down to the divine Jack Davenport. Like the character he plays here, he can get away with anything.
