Unlike another unpatterned scarf from the same ultimate source and recently purchased, this is not 100% wool but an 80/20 wool-nylon mix, the addition of the nylon not being in any way noticeable. It also not patterned for its entire 2-meter length but only in two areas close to the ends.
The length is sufficient to allow its wear in different ways, whether the traditional wraparound or the more fashionable looped pull-through or any other. The fabric is very soft and the scarf is wonderfully warm to wear. The colour is such that it will match to anything, a mid-grey in the main with off-white and dark grey contrasts. However the addition of a little colour, dark blue or a red-brown as an alternative to the darker grey, might be just as acceptable without it being glaringly obvious.
There are no tassels or otherwise decorative additions that may interfere with the operation of a zipped jacket, an experience I know too well from wearing another scarf gifted some years ago.
Overall, an excellent product at an equally good price. It is also UK made, which may be an attractive feature for some.
My dad was touched I'd bothered to fork out on a posh scarf..,.theres no mistaking the luxury feel, it's lovely and big. You know it's expensive! Poor chap didnt realise that I'd scored it for a tenner in the hot deals, far fnar !!
