This a veritable excellent splendid read, sure to delight and enchant lovers of the furry Gods everywhere. Written in a light, deft and catcentric way, this tale (!) of a sculpture making in the garden intelligent feline and his doggie pal, who solve mysteries paltry humans couldn't solve, using feline cunning and fraternising with a chip fancying seagull for valuable clues, and a cute female tabby. Its written in a way you think animals actually do think and speak this way, and I was sorry to read the author had given up writing. Noooooo. I am a surrealist cat and other interesting things artist, and it was a joy to indulge in painting breaks curled up cat stylee on the sofa reading these furrytastic books. Lacey Dearie is a brilliant name for anyone, its like cosy but girly frilly at the same time, and Cagney Dearie is just wrong.

I loved the first of the Leger stories and was really pleased to see that a sequel has come out hot on its heels. After solving a rather nasty mugging, Leger is on the prowl again as he hunts down the people who have stolen his neighbour's expensive exotic fish.

Leger is on form again and all the old characters are back - Bob, Joe, Ginger and that cute little tabby that has raised Leger's whiskers ... This is an intriguing story with some very funny moments, such as the chip incident. And I do believe I can see a love triangle forming.

I love that Leger keeps trying to communicate with his owners and they are so slow to work out what he's trying to tell them. This is a fun series and I hope there are more to come.

I love this book even more than the first Leger book, and that's saying something! It's a real treat from beginning to end and time simply flies by while reading it.
Leger is such a great four-legged crime fighter, it's impossible not to take him to your heart. Lacey Dearie is a wonderful writer, not a word is wasted and some of Leger's cynical little asides are wonderful: 'Eat them? I'd rather kiss a pigeon's backside, madam.'
I highly recommend this book, if you like cats then you will adore it. I hope that there is a third Leger case coming soon!

As a crazy cat lady, I bloomin' LOVE Leger! Lacey writes a good story that will capture your heart as well as your imagination - she makes the reader connect with Leger as if he were a human being, so you really get involved with the characters. The plot is great, with a number of twists and turns that I didn't expect! Best of all, this book is a really fantastic universal read - you can read it if you're 9 or 90! Loved everything about this book, keep writing Lacey!
